This makes me very embarrassed to admit that when I taught first grade I had a math professor from BYU come into my classroom for a whole year and teach my students Investigations Math. I have to admit it was an interesting experience and even though I felt like I learned quite a bit from watching her teach, I would of never taught that way, nor did I after that.
I just should have been more educated and vocal about what I was seeing in opposition.
